SUBCLASS 888 - INVESTOR STREAM
A provisional visa for investors/business owners who want to invest in Australia
▶ Must be nominated by a State/Territory
▶ Be invited to apply for the visa by the
Australian government
▶ Invest a minimum of AUD$2.5 million to be
held in a specific complying investment
portfolio
▶ Have held this visa for at least 3 years (if invited to
apply for SC188 on or after 1 Jul 2021)
▶ Have held the complying significant investment for
subclass 188 Investor visa AUD$2.5 million
continuously for the whole period during which you
held the subclass 188 visa
▶ Business and personal assets net worth:
Own a minimum of AUD2.5 million in total assets
held for the 2 most recent years;
▶ Meet Australian residence requirement:
At least 2 years in the 3 immediate years before the
time of application.
▶ Prove Functional English for all applicants aged
18 and above (or pay English charges)
▶ Meet health requirement for all applicants
▶ Meet character requirement for all applicants

WHEN can I apply for permanent residence visa
SC 888?
If invited to apply for SC188 after 1 Jul 2021:
1) After 3 years holding the subclass 188 visa
2) Have continuously held Complying Significant Investments (AUD$2.5 million) for at least 3 years and still continue holding these investments up till the grant of SC888
If invited to apply for SC188 before 1 Jul 2021:
After 4 years as a subclass 188 visa holder and having held your Designated Investments (AUD$1.5million) during that period.
